If the laptop's keyboard is lit up or the power indicator light on the power button is lit but the display has a plain black screen please proceed with the following steps.
Reset the laptop
Turn off the computer (hold power button for 10 seconds).
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.
