Google has announced on 05/09/2019 that using "Brand Accounts" will no longer be supported using Gsuite for Education and these accounts will be deleted on 07/10/2019. Below are instructions on how to migrate YouTube videos that are housed on a secondary "Brand Account" onto your own district primary accounts. To check to see if you are currently using or have a YouTube Brand Account please click on this link. If you don't see another account listed then you are all set.

If you get stuck on any of these steps or would like assistance please feel free to submit an Esupport ticket and we can assist you.

While on YouTube if you click on your user account icon in the upper right hand corner you can see that two accounts are associated with this email account. "Test Teacher" is the primary account and "Test Channel 2" is the Brand Account. For this demonstration Test Teacher will have "Test Upload - Test Teacher" uploaded as a video and then Test Channel 2 will have "Test Video 2 - Test Teacher 2" uploaded as a video. We will be migrating "Test Video 2 - Test Teacher 2" from the Brand Account back to the primary account.

If you click on your user account icon in the upper right hand corner you can see that two accounts are associated with this email account. You will click on "Test Channel 2" to switch to the Brand Account. In this screenshot the Brand Account is already selected as you can see where it says "Test Channel 2" in the middle and you can see this Brand Account's YouTube video.

Next, we will go to https://takeout.google.com to export the videos out of the Brand Account. In the upper right hand corner click on the user account icon and then select the Brand Account, in this demonstration we are selecting "Test Channel 2". Next, click on "Deselect All" (step 4).

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the YouTube checkbox. Deselect all checkboxs except for "videos". Next click "OK", then "Next step".

Next scroll down and select "Create archive". This will generate an email to your account that will have a download link available to download the videos you have just exported.

In this screenshot I have downloaded the video from the email generated and opened the folder to show that it has successfully been exported from the Brand Account".

Next, select the user account icon again in the top right hand corner and switch back to your primary account. In this demonstration that would be "Test Teacher". Next click the camera icon at the top of the screen and select "Upload video".

Next, you can drag and drop the videos that you have exported from the Brand Account. You can drop multiple videos in this box to upload them to your primary account.

The upload is complete, next press the "Publish" button.

Now you can see that the video has been successfully migrated from the Brand Account to your primary account.

The next steps are optional, but highly recommended to prevent future accidental usage of the Brand Accounts since they will be deleted this summer. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/brandaccounts. Towards the bottom of the screen you will be shown your Brand Accounts. Select the account.

Next, click "DELETE ACCOUNT".

Check the boxes below stating that the videos and Brand Account will be deleted. Next, click "DELETE ACCOUNT" again.

Now, as you can see there are no more Brand Accounts and your videos have been successfully migrated.
